Luigi Fusco Girard is Associate Professor at IRISS since 2010.
Emeritus Professor at the University of Naples Federico II and Scientific Coordinator of the European Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation project “CLIC – Circular models Leveraging Investments in Cultural heritage adaptive reuse”, 2017-2020.
Author of more than 200 scientific publications on evaluation methods for integrated conservation of cultural heritage, strategies and tools for urban / territorial sustainable development and regeneration of cultural heritage / landscape in the perspective of the circular economy and circular city / territory.
Director of the Laboratory of Research on Creative and Sustainable City, Lead Partner World Urban Campaign, Director of the UN-Habitat Thematic HUB on Urban Regeneration, Member of the Steering Committee of the UN World Urban Campaign and Co-President of the “GUD Program Committee on Celebrating Our Urban Heritage”.
Deputy President of ICOMOS Italy and President of ISCEC-ICOMOS International / Italian Scientific Committee on Economics of Conservation. President of the Scientific Committee of the Interdepartmental Research Centre “Alberto Calza Bini” at the University of Naples Federico II, he has several roles also in national and international scientific organizations.
Scientific responsible in national and international research projects such as the PRIN “Metropolitan cities: economic territorial strategies, financial barriers and circular regeneration” (2017-2020) and member of the Stakeholders’ Committee for the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018.
Director of the scientific journal BDC – Bollettino del Centro Calza Bini and member of scientific committee of several journals. He has been invited as keynote speaker for many international conferences and he has been scientific coordinator of international conferences and workshops.
