Public Spaces for Local Life

14 Feb 2017

E’ aperta la Call for abstract per l’evento organizzato dall’EU Human Cities partnership e dall’AESOP Thematic Group Public Spaces and Urban Cultures a Ljubljana dal 24 al 26 maggio 2017:

PUBLIC SPACES FOR LOCAL LIFE Shared values in diversified urban communities as a foundation for participatory provision of local public spaces.

Ospitato presso l’Urban Planning Institute of the Republic of Slovenia (UIRS) and University of Ljubljana, Faculty of architecture (UL-FA).

L’evento è sviluppato nell’ambito del working theme dell’AESOP Thematic Group Public Spaces and Urban Cultures “Unstable geographies – dislocated publics” (2016-2018).

Stefania Ragozino, Assegnista di Ricerca presso l’IRISS, è membro del Comitato Scientifico dell’evento.

The event aims at reflecting on the current scenario in which the city is affected by austerity policies, crisis and dramatic migrational flows, taking into account two main issues:

  • Practicing more inclusive pathways for provision of public space, including engagement of marginal and minority groups;
  • Experimenting long-term circular process in which public spaces’ economic, social and cultural dimensions could be adapted to cater for increasing solidarity, environmental concerns and critical heritage studies.

Join event, 24-26 May 2017, Ljubljana.

Important dates:

  • Abstract submission: 13 March 2017
  • Full paper submission: 2 May 2017
