Since 2014 Stefania Oppido is Technologist at CNR – IRISS.
Architect, graduated cum laude at the University of Naples “Federico II”, she got PhD in “Building and Environmental Recovery” and Master in “Recovery and promotion of historical centres”.
Her research fields focus on built heritage and cultural landscape, investigating rehabilitation and regeneration processes, especially related to historical centers and disused heritage, for enhancing local identity.
She is scientific coordinator of research activities of CNR – IRISS within the METRICS project (Methodologies and technologies for the management and rehabilitation of historical centers).
Since 2010, she is working at the IRISS, involved in national and international researches, such as BESECURE project “Best Practices Enhancers for Security in Urban Environments” (UE 7FP) and “Estudio de la Amenaza Sísmica y Vulnerabilidad Física del Gran Santo Domingo” project (UE and UNDP United Nations Development Programme), coordinating working groups.
Expert of matter in Architectural Technology, since 2002 she has participated in the scientific activities at the Dept. of Architectural Configuration and Implementation of the University of Naples “Federico II”, involved in seminars, teaching activities and national and international researches.
Reviewer for the following scientific journals: TRIA, Territorio della Ricerca su Insediamenti e Ambiente. Rivista internazionale di cultura urbanistica (Edizioni Scientifiche Italiane) e dell’International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management (Emerald Group Publishing); LaborEst (Mediterranea University of Reggio Calabria, Italy). Reviewer during the 1st and 2nd editions of the International Symposium “New Metropolitan Perspectives” (2014; 2016).
Author of essays and scientific papers, speaker at national and international conferences, she has participated in scientific conference committees.
