Bianca Gioia Marino

Bianca Gioia Marino is Associate Professor at CNR-IRISS since 2022.

Architect, qualified Professor ASN 2017 is Associate Professor in Heritage Conservation at the Department of Architecture (DiARC) University of Naples Federico II; PhD in Conservation of Architectural Heritage, specialist in Restoration of Monuments and scholarship holder at the Katholieke Universiteit in Leuven, she is member of the Research Commission at the same DiARC. Professor since 2005 at the School of Specialization in Architectural Heritage and Landscape of Naples.

She is in the Board of teachers of the Doctoral Program in Architecture (University of Naples Federico II) and member of the Scientific Councils of two Level Master II: “Landscapes at risk. The landscape project in vulnerable territories” and “ARINT Architecture and project for internal areas”.

Author of 5 books, several edited works and numerous articles and essaies in class A journals, she directs the collection FREQUENZE2 and is a member of scientific and editorial boards of class A scientific journals.

Member of ICOMOS since 1991, she is Expert Member of ICOMOS IcoFort (International Scientific Committee on Fortifications and Military Heritage) and coordinator of CSN IcoFort; she is also, within ICOMOS, member of the Comité international de la Formation (CIF) and in the CSN Theory and Philosophy of Conservation – (TheoPhilos). Coordinator of the Built Heritage and Conservation Commission and member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Italian Engineers and Architects (ANIAI Campania).

Member of scientific societies (SIRA) and research centers (CIRICE), has participated in international research projects and is scientifically responsible for applied research under agreements between DiARC, with institutions and local authorities including: the National Archaeological Museum of Naples (MANN), Archaeological Park of Herculaneum (PaERCO), National Institute of Volcanology (INGV).
