At the Conference on the Future of Europe, UNITO presented a proposal about the Protection of religious cultural heritage. The Be.CULTOUR project encourage the subscription.
The European Union promoted the Conference on the Future of Europe in order to gather ideas and proposals for improving its structures and policies.
The University of Turin takes part in this initiative by drawing up two proposals, both selected for discussion in the plenary sessions, on topics related to the relationship between religions and the European Union, one of which was dedicated to the protection of religious cultural heritage at European level.
The Department of Law of the University of Turin has therefore organised two meetings to present and promote the operational proposals, with the aim of supporting them through online subscription.
On Thursday 24 March 2022, the first of the two meetings will be dedicated to the “Promotion of intercultural perspectives and interreligious dialogue in EU law” to discuss about the role of legal documents as a tool for dialogue, in a broader and more inclusive logic, in a context of European societies with increasingly divisive ethical issues.
Then, on Tuesday 29 March 2022 (h. 16-19) the discussion will focus on the “Protection of religious cultural heritage“. This proposal asks the European Union to support Member States and religious organisations: in the protection and enhancement of cultural heritage of religious interest, as a tool for rediscovering and spreading knowledge of European history and art; in the restoration of the religious paths and itineraries that run among the European countries, as innovative forms for a new eco-sustainable tourism; in promoting the reuse of religious buildings that are useful for the cultural, social and economic development of the territories; in the construction of a network of stakeholder, for the dissemination of good practices at European level.
The event can also be followed in streaming.
In the framework of the H2020 Be.CULTOUR project, the theme of Protection of religious cultural heritage is of crucial importance, therefore the Consortium invites everyone to support the initiative by signing up at the european link: https://futureu.europa.eu/processes/Education/f/36/proposals/245950
