Objectives and contents

The “SuperBioCer” project, developed within the memorandum of understanding between CNR IRISS and the “Bussento – Lambro e Mingardo” Mountain Community, intends to contribute to the energy transition process, promoting energy security, environmental protection and energy affordability.

The project will involve several municipalities and therefore, rather than pursuing a Renewable Energy Community (REC) project, it aims to create a sort of ‘SuperCER’ through an integrated approach to the different Renewable Energy Sources (RES) that can be used. The energetic valorisation of available biomasses – hence the term Bio in the project title – will be a highly innovative and characterising element of the project that, once realised, could build the largest Italian CER as the first one that would be based on an integrated approach of the 4 main energy production technologies from RES, namely Photovoltaic, Hydroelectric, Biomass/Biogas, and Mini-Micro-Wind. The area covered by the research project is a broad area of Cilento, which is one of the areas of interest of the National Strategy for Inner Areas (SNAI)
