CLIC Final Conference

The final conference of the Horizon 2020 project CLIC “Circular models Leveraging Investments in Cultural heritage adaptive reuse” will be held next 22-23 September, online. The event is organised by the CNR IRISS – Institute for Research on Innovation and Services for Development, Coordinator of the project, in collaboration with other 15 European Partners from academia, local government, social and business sector.

After more than three years of activity, the CLIC team will present the reflection conducted within the project on the “human-centred” circular model for circular cities and regions through cultural heritage adaptive reuse to contribute to next EU Recovery and Resilience strategies, including the European Green Deal and the New European Bauhaus. The Final Conference will be the occasion to share the research results on new evaluation tools, circular governance models, circular business models and innovative financing instruments for cultural heritage adaptive reuse, demonstrating their long-term convenience at the social, cultural, environmental, and economic level.

The conference will be developed in two days: on the first day, the focus will be on the CLIC framework for circular human-centred adaptive reuse of cultural heritage, presented by Prof. Luigi Fusco Girard, Scientific Coordinator of the project, associate to Cnr-Iriss. The second day will be dedicated to an in-depth analysis of innovative circular business and financing models for cultural heritage adaptive reuse.

The debate will be enriched by the contribution of European Commission representatives and experts in the field of cultural heritage reuse and valorization who will provide valuable insights into the topics discussed in the various sessions among which: innovative circular governance models for cultural heritage adaptive reuse; tools for circular governance with particular attention to impacts assessment; heritage-led entrepreneurial ecosystems.

The CLIC Final Conference will allow participants to discover how the circular economy model can be successfully applied to cultural heritage adaptive reuse, co-generating multiple benefits for cities and regions with local communities, and co-creating new meanings of heritage places, enhancing wellbeing, ecosystems and human health.  For further information and registration to the Conference, please visit the project website. To get the latest news on the event, you can subscribe to CLIC Project Newsletter and follow CLIC social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube).
