Serena Micheletti collaborates with CNR – IRISS since 2014 as Research fellow in the research program: “Planning and sustainable management of territory”
She is graduated cum laude in “Architecture, Interior Design and for Authonomy” (English course) at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”. Her degree thesis was focused on the “NaplEst” project, with specific insights on sustainable regeneration of urban areas.
Her research interests are included in the research area “Place-based Regeneration Strategies and Participatory Processes”. They concern urban regeneration processes, specifically about the local identity and immaterial resources valorization – also with the reuse of disused heritage – and the strategies definitions to implement response capacity of territory about risks, with a focus on social participation actions.
At international level, she participated at the project “Estudio de la Amenaza sísmica y vulnerabilidad física del Gran Santo Domingo “, in collaboration, among others, with the European Union and the United Nations (UNDP).
She concluded “Geographic Information System to manage Urban Systems and Complex Systems” masterclass, aimed to use software about spatial analysis and land use planning.
About research results and scientific activities, she published international papers, project reports and she presented researches in national and international conferences.
