Sabrina Greco is a researcher at CNR – IRISS, with experience on migration and development.
She holds a Ph.D. in Demography and Economy of Great Geographical Areas, from the University of Bari. She completed her bachelor studies at La Sapienza University of Rome, with specialization in Statistical, Demographical and Social Sciences.
During her Ph.D. studies, she was awarded a scholarship by Jean-Monnet Faculty of Paris-Sud University and visiting scholar at the French Institute for Demographic Studies or INED in Paris and in Morocco-Rabat, Mohammed V-Agdal University at High Commissary of Planning within the Demographic Research and Studies Center (CERED).
Areas of research: international migration, relationship between migration, economic exchange and circulation of cultural capital, demographic dynamics and development.
Geographical areas: Mediterranean countries and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Currently, she is the Principal Investigator of Project Innovation in society: training paths and human capital enhancement in Sudan (INSO)
During her career, she has been awarded with research fellowship at foreign institutes of Centre for Social, Legal and Economic Studies and Documentation in Sudan (CEDEJ – Khartoum, 2011) and INED (Paris, 2013).
In 2014, as a senior foreign researcher she won an iPOPS fellowship (Individuals, Populations, Societies) at “Laboratories of Excellence” of INED, offered by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research and served at “Centre Population et Développement” (CEPED).
She has also performed consultancy activities for international organizations, non-governmental organizations and lecturer activities.
She is author of scientific papers published in journals and in collected volumes.
