Resilience - Innovation - Sustainable Development | Transparency – Organization – Meritocracy
The QUARC project aims to analyse the need to improve efficiency and competitiveness in the most important agriculture-food chains in the Campania Region: wine, pasta, olive-oil, dairy products and chestnuts. To this end, prototypes of highly innovative systems have been developed, combining both quality improvement (extended to food safety) and the genetic and environmental origin of the products. Of particular significance is the testing of a framework for analysing the innovation capacity of the agro-food businesses in Campania, inspired by the logic of Open Innovation, which involve both the technological and the cultural dimension. The project is part of a public-private partnership with Mastroberardino SpA, De Matteis Agroalimentare, Aziende Agricole Associate S.r.l, Basso Fedele e figli Srl, Perrotta Gigliola-Impresa Individuale, and various CNR (National Research Council) institutes (IRAT, IPP, ISA, IBAF, IBP, ISAFoM, IGV, IGB and ISPAAM) and the Department of Economic Studies at Parthenope University of Naples. The design proposal is divided into in eight Work Packages (WP). IRISS assumed the scientific responsibility for WP1 Domain and Technology Analysis. In addition to coordinating and managing project activities, WP1 also verified conditions for the applicability of the innovations identified and implemented throughout the project, in order to improve the competitiveness of the agricultural food system in Campania.
